Eclipse…well, just! In West Oxfordshire, UK, after a day of lifeless grey skies, we got just enough of a glimpse of the sun to see the 5% bite out of the sun before it set…and it was good to see, dodging behind some clouds (which was good, as it adds extra interest to the pictures taken)
Taken with my Fuji X-E2, but with a Opteka 500mm f/8 lens attached – it’s a small lens because it is a reflex mirror design – focusing is manual and a bit of a challenge because in turning the focus, you tend to move the lens a bit, even when tripod mounted (which is basically a necessity!) I had purchased this with the eclipse in mind, though had hoped to be in the US to see totality too, but that was not to be in the end – at least it did see a small part of this fantastic celestial event!
Technical details:
500mm (Opteka f/8; 500mm reflex mirror); 1/18s@f8; ISO320 – Tripod – edited in Lightroom
