Old Dock Cranes

Old dock cranes

These are some of the dock cranes (tripods) that remain as a monument in the Docklands area in London – there are eight that I know of: three at South Dock; three at the north end of Millwall Outer Dock and two at the west end of Millwall Outer Dock.  This photograph was taken of the pair at the west end of Millwall Outer Dock.

I would love to claim that the aircraft flying overhead (roughly in centre of the shot) was caught by design, but to be honest I didn’t notice it until I was editing the image later on, but I do like it!
