Old Oak Tree

The Old Oak Tree

This photograph was taken on the gloriously sunny afternoon of the 1st of March – the first day of Spring!  Unfortunately, the weather didn’t last and the 2nd day of Spring has been wet, windy and miserable…oh well!

Still, a short walk in the sun shine resulted in some good images – the one shown is of a very large (but also, unfortunately, very dead) oak tree – the texture of the bark is incredible  I especially like the contrast of the detail of the tree in the foreground and the lack of detail in the whole tree you can see across the field in the distance…

Minor edits done in Lightroom, then exported to Silver Efex to handle the B&W conversion, boosting the contrast and adding a sepia tone.
