Paddington Station – Platform 1

Paddington - rush hour (B&W)

This shot is something a  bit more dynamic – I have been reading some of the ebooks from Craft and Vision and these inspired me to do something new – I’ll write more about the books later, but they are well worth a look – taken from the footbridge at the end of Platform 1 on Paddington Station looking towards the main concourse.  I took several shots as the train came in (I knew this was coming in as it forms the service I was catching home!), but this one with people on the platform turned out best – 0.8s exposure to allow some movement to be visible in the people coming off the train – I used my pod (bean bag) on the bridge to take the shot.

Post processing involved converting to B&W, some dodging a burning (mostly in the roof area that was quite dark), I boosted the contrast a bit to give the shot a bit more impact – I did do a colour version of the same shot, but much prefer this one.
